These terms cover your use of the Fauna mobile app. They are meant to be readable. If anything here is unclear, ask us at support@ripeseed.io and we will explain it.
Who these terms are with
Fauna is published by RipeSeed. ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a child, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian.
What you may do
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Fauna on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, for as long as these terms are met.
What you may not do
- copy, resell, rent or redistribute the app or its content;
- reverse engineer it, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded;
- extract the question bank or learning slides for use in another product;
- remove or obscure any notice of ownership.
Purchases
Fauna is free to download. All learning slides are free, along with the first five questions of every level in every topic.
One optional purchase — full access — opens the remaining questions. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Nothing recurs and nothing is billed again.
- The price shown is your store's own price in your own currency, including any tax it applies.
- The purchase is made through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Their terms govern the transaction, and payment is taken by them, not by us.
- It can be restored on a new device from the same store account using "Restore purchase" in the parents area.
- Store receipts do not cross between Apple and Google. A purchase made on one platform cannot be restored on the other — buying on an iPhone and later moving to an Android device means buying again. This is a limit of how the two stores work, and Fauna has no account of its own that could carry a purchase between them.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, under its policy — not by us. For Apple, use reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google, use Play's order history. If a store declines and you think that is wrong, write to us and we will help where we can.
Accounts
There are none. Fauna has no sign-in, no registration and no user accounts of any kind, so there is no credential for you to keep safe and nothing for us to suspend or terminate. Your child's progress lives on their device and is yours to clear at any time — see deleting your data.
About the content
Fauna is an educational app for children. Its questions and slides are written to be accurate and are reviewed before release, but facts about the natural world change — a population figure or a conservation status can be out of date within a year. Fauna is not a reference work and should not be relied on as one, for schoolwork or otherwise.
If you spot something wrong, please tell us at support@ripeseed.io. We correct content and log the change.
Availability
Fauna works fully offline. It does not need our servers, because there are none — so there is no service of ours that could go down and take your child's learning with it. We may update the app, change or retire features, or stop distributing it; a copy already installed keeps working on the device exactly as before.
Ownership
The app, its design, its code, its artwork and its question bank belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a licence to use Fauna, not ownership of it.
Liability
Fauna is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects the statutory consumer rights you have where you live.
Changes
If these terms change we will update the date at the top of this page, and note any material change in the app before it takes effect.
